DivX Player 6.8.1 Beta 1

We've got a brand spanking new build of DivX Player for you to er.. "play" with! [1] . This beta features a complete rewrite of much of the player's internals in order to add support for files larger than 4GB, rendering via Direct3D, QuickTime .mov and .mp4 support, and more.

DivX Converter 6.6.1 Beta 1

DivX Converter has been updated to support the latest versions of QuickTime and also to better handle multilingual audio and subtitle tracks. Read on for details and access to the download!

To make things easier you can now download DivX Mobile Player directly here on DivX Labs, just Join the DivX Mobile Community and a whole new realm of possibilities will open up for you here. If you do not have a Labs account you need to sign up. Downloading from mobile.divx.com is of course also still an option.

An updated Beta version of DivX Mobile Player is now available for Windows Mobile PocketPC and Windows Mobile Smartphone. There is no update for Symbian at this time, but check back for an update soon. There is no version available for iPhone, Blackberry or Palm Garnet OS phones.

We have a feeling a lot of you have some really cool ideas for DivX Connected Plug-ins but were just waiting for the right incentive to get developing. Well, you don’t have to wait any longer. We’re hosting a DivX Connected Plug-in development contest where we ask developers to create plug-ins for the DivX Connected platform and compete for fame, bragging rights and some nifty prizes.

DivX Codec 6.8 introduced two major improvements over older versions - multithreaded decoding and support for custom quantization matrices. In addition, DivX Codec 6.8.2 will contain fixes for several issues reported to us since the 6.8 release, including better support for dual monitors and for older DivX files.
